Born in 1944 and graduated from Robert College, Rona Yırcalı holds a master’s degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Miami.
He is currently Member of the Board of Directors and Executive Board of the “World Council of Turkish Businesspersons” (DTİK), Member of the High Advisory Board of the “Turkish Industrialist Businesspersons Association” (TÜSİAD), Member of the Board of Trustees of the “International Cooperation Platform” and Board of Directors of the “Education Foundation of Turkey” (TEV).
In the past Yırcalı has assumed such positions as President of the Board of Directors at TOBB and Yapı & Kredi Bank and President of Balıkesir Chamber of Industry. The Group of Companies he owns focuses on energy (transformers, hydroelectric and wind power), food, animal feed, textiles, synthetic fibre production, tourism and finance. Fluent in English, Yırcalı is married and a father of two.
