Born in 1944, Rona Yırcalı completed his secondary education at Robert College before studying economics and business administration at the University of Miami in the United States.
With decades of business and leadership experience, Yırcalı continues to serve on the executive and governing bodies of the World Turkish Business Council (DTİK), the TÜSİAD High Advisory Council and the International Cooperation Platform (UİP), as well as on the Boards of Trustees of the Turkish Education Foundation (TEV) and the TEMA Foundation.
Throughout his career, he has held chairmanships and board positions at a number of prominent institutions, including the World Chambers Federation, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK), the Balıkesir Chamber of Industry, Yapı ve Kredi Bankası and the Turkish Education Foundation.
The Yırcalı Group operates across the energy, food, animal feed, textiles, synthetic fibres, tourism and finance sectors. Rona Yırcalı is proficient in English.
He is married and has two children.
