Born in İzmir in 1945, Cem Bakioğlu studied at the İzmir Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences. In 1973, he founded Bak Ambalaj Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., marking his entry into the flexible packaging industry.
As the founder and Honorary Chairman of Bakioğlu Holding, Bakioğlu has played an instrumental role in establishing and growing companies across a broad range of sectors, including packaging, construction, insurance, information technology, transportation, food and healthcare. He also serves as Chairman of the Board at Egenda Ege Enerji Üretim A.Ş.
Bakioğlu is widely recognised for his contributions to environmental and educational initiatives. He founded the Aegean Forest Foundation in 1995 and has led major reforestation efforts across the Aegean region. In the field of education, he contributed to the establishment and development of
Cem Bakioğlu Anadolu High School and, in 2025, supported the creation of the Bakioğlu Can Dostlarımız Life Centre and Animal Shelter.
A member of TÜSİAD and ESİAD, he has held management positions at numerous companies and organisations throughout his career. He is proficient in English and French.
Cem Bakioğlu is married and has two children.
